Minister of Health Orders Immediate Improvements at al-Haram Hospital
During a surprise โขvisit to Al-Haram Specialist hospitalโฃ in Giza Governorate, Minister of Health and population Dr. โKhaled Abdel Ghaffar identified critical areas needing immediate attention andโข issued directives for rapid advancement.The visit was โขpart of the โฃministry’s ongoing efforts to monitor health facilities and ensure quality service delivery to citizens.
Dr. Abdelโ Ghaffar expressed meaningfulโฃ concern over hygiene standards within the hospital, โleading to the immediate โฃtermination of the contract โwith theโค current cleaning service provider. He also cancelled the contract with the security company responsible for access control, citing observed deficiencies in performance that resulted in disorganized entry procedures.
The Minister observed overcrowding inโ the receptionโข and โemergency department โฃand instructed officialsโฃ to urgently reorganize the space to improve patient flow and provideโ adequate waiting areas. โขHe also noted high occupancy rates – 70% in internal departments and 100%โ in intensive care – and directed an increase in medical staff and โฃexpansion of available โฃspecialties to address patient needs.
To accelerate โimprovements, Dr.Abdel Ghaffar convened a meeting with his assistants,โ the โขhead of the treatment medicine โขsector, and the head of the secretariat ofโ specialized medical centers.
