Reyes addressed Bravo’s remarks in a recent interview with The Latest News.
Reyes stated, “I got to play American football in the United States. I feel very proud to have represented an entire country in the NFL and not having failed them, I gave the best I had within my pond and I can die calmly.” He acknowledged uncertainty regarding the context of Bravo’s original statement, adding, “I don’t no if he was taken out of context or really what his intentions were, but I think it’s hard to measure things.” He illustrated his point with an analogy from chilean football, noting the availability of multiple teams for players.
Despite any perceived critique, Reyes expressed deep respect for Bravo, stating, “Claudio, for me, will always be an idol, a person that I admire, an example of overcoming for all Chileans, and regardless of what he says about me.” He concluded by emphasizing Bravo’s lasting impact: “The only thing I tell him is that he is a big one, that he is a reference and that he is a person who marked the way for many athletes and boys and girls from Chile.”
