Art House Theater Day is back, and Little Rockโs Cinema I/O โ a โnomadic, non-profit microcinemaโ founded by Arkansas times film Series curator Omaya Jones, among others โ is once again participating.
Alongside dozens of theaters across the country (mostly concentrated on the East and West coasts), Jones and company are offering multiple showings of two LBGT+ films: Sean Bakerโs โTangerineโ (2015) โ famously filmed exclusively with iPhones โ and Cรฉline Sciammaโs โTomboyโ (2011). Itโs a nice time to revisit some of Bakerโs early work, given that he just scored a Best Picture win for โAnoraโ at the 97th Academy Awards.
โTangerineโ screens at 7:30 p.m. on July 24,7 p.m. on July 26 and 5 p.m. on July 27; and โTomboyโ screens at 3 p.m. on July 26,3 p.m.on July 27 and 7:30 p.m. on July 30. All showings cost $6 and will show at 420 byrd St. Get tickets here.
