Celebrity Traitors Star Ruth Codd Undergoes Second Amputation Due to Crutch-related Joint Damage
Ruth Codd, known for her appearance on the BBC reality competition Celebrity Traitors, recently revealed she underwent a second amputation. The decision stemmed from irreversible joint damage in her foot caused by prolonged crutch use following a previous toe amputation.
Codd explained in an interview on the Under Your Skin with Grace Neutral podcast that repeated stress on her foot, despite prior surgery, ultimately “destroyed” the joints. Another amputation was persistent to be the best course of action to significantly improve her quality of life. While currently unable to walk, Codd anticipates being fitted with two prosthetics once her leg fully recovers from the procedure.
The reality television personality initially had her toes amputated due to damage, but her condition worsened to the point where her joints were beyond repair.Codd shared that the joints had “gone past the point where they can kind of do anything about it.” She looks forward to regaining mobility with prosthetic limbs after the healing process is complete.
