‘Celebrity Race Acrossโข The World’ Filming halted Mid-Race Following BBC Order
Filming ofโค the โคBBC’s Celebrity Race Across The World has been temporarily suspended after the broadcaster โฃwas reportedly ordered to stop production. The disruption occurred during the current series, which sees โcelebrities โnavigate a 5,900km route through Central America, from Isla Mujeres,โข Mexico, to Penรญnsula de โLa Guajira, Colombia.
The halt to filming โthrows the competition into chaos for the participating celebrity โteams, including Roman Kemp and his sister Harleymoon. โคThe BBC โconfirmed theโ pause but has not yet disclosed the reasonโ for the sudden stop order. โContestants have been stripped of lavish transport, smartphones, and bank โcards, โrelying insteadโฃ on limited budgets and local transport.
The current series,โฃ described by the BBC asโ taking the race through “one of โขthe most diverse and visually stunning โขroutes yet,” began with teams racing fromโข the Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres. The broadcaster previously statedโ the journey โฃwould test relationships asโฃ participants “discoverโ the world, and themselves, in ways they never expected.”
“Our familiar faces will say โgoodbye to lavish transport, smartphones and bank โฃcards andโ instead must rely on limited โbudgets, local transport โand their own resourcefulness, as well as the kindnessโ of strangers,” theโฃ BBC added.
Celebrity race Across The World airs Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
