The childhood and life of Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, is overshadowed by a fact that many peers find it difficult to relate to.
The British publication Mirror writes that the parents of the youngest members of the British court, Prince William and Princess Catherine, are well aware of the potential burden of Charlotte and Louis. If royal history were to repeat itself, they would live as “stand-ins” for their brother Prince George, 10.
Prince George is second in line to the throne.
Interviewed by the Mirror, royal expert Jennie Bond praises William and Catherine’s modern approach as parents. According to him, the couple strives for their younger children to enjoy as normal a life as possible. They also want to avoid friction as the children follow their own royal paths.
They are working to ensure that Charlotte and Louis don’t have to grow up in George’s shadow.

Not depending on one option
Bond says that William and Catherine’s gentle parenting also aims to ensure that Charlotte and Louis never feel that working as a royal is their only option.
– They have already shown that they have a different and modern attitude to raising royal children. I’m sure they will do everything they can to make Charlotte and Louis feel as special, loved and appreciated as George did, says Bond.

Harry’s pains
Spare-term returned to the spotlight and discussions when Prince Harry published a memoir of the same name in January 2023. The name of the Finnish version is Deputy.
Harry didn’t mince his words in his book that caused an uproar. Harry says in his book that his father, King Charles, told Princess Diana after Harry’s birth the grim words: “Wonderful, now you have given me an heir and a backup. My work is done”.
In his book, Harry highlighted how “being on the back foot” comes with a lot of uncertainty as the royals struggle with their identity.
