Chris Evans and Alba Baptista Welcome First Child
LOS ANGELES – Chris Evans and his wife, Alba Baptista, have quietly welcomed their first child, sources confirmed to Page Six on Wednesday. The couple, who married in September 2023, are reportedly overjoyed with the arrival of their baby.
The news marks a notable milestone for the notoriously private couple, who began dating in 2022. Evans, 42, has previously expressed his desire to become a father, stating in 2023 he “absolutely” hoped to have children. The arrival of their child signals a new chapter for the Captain America star and Baptista,28,as they embark on parenthood.
Evans and Baptista celebrated their union with two wedding ceremonies, one in Portugal and another in Massachusetts. The actor previously shared that his adopted dog, Dodger, a rescue he adopted in 2017, did not attend the weddings, joking that the canine would have been “too excited” and “stolen the show.”
The couple kept their engagement private, but Evans later revealed he proposed to Baptista in Portuguese, a language he learned specifically for the occasion.”I proposed to my wife in Portuguese,” he told The Knot in June.”She’s Portuguese, so I learned how to say ‘Will you marry me?’ in portuguese. I had practiced it all week…I actually think I screwed it up, but I still know it.”
Details surrounding the baby’s gender and name have not yet been released. Representatives for Evans and Baptista have not yet responded to requests for comment.
