Mercedes Moné to challenge Kris Statlander for AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear
Greensboro, NC – A championship clash is set for AEW Full Gear as Mercedes Moné has officially challenged, and Kris Statlander has accepted, a match for the AEW Women’s World Championship. The bout will take place at the November 9th pay-per-view event, marking Moné’s first challenge for the title since joining All Elite Wrestling.
Statlander, who captured the championship on September 20th at AEW All Out, will defend her title against “The CEO,” as Moné is known. This contest will be a significant moment for both competitors; Moné will be vying for her thirteenth championship recently surpassing Ultimo Dragon’s previous record of eleven title reigns achieved in the late 1990s. Statlander will be making her third defense of the AEW Women’s World Championship.
AEW Full Gear is the penultimate pay-per-view of the year for All Elite Wrestling, preceding worlds end on December 27th in Chicago. Prior to Full Gear, AEW will host a special episode of Dynamite, “Blood & Guts,” on November 12th in Greensboro, North Carolina.
