Jordyโ Graat Named ‘Knoergoeie Brabander’ for 2026, Expresses Surprise
Uden, Netherlands – Jordy โGraat, a familiarโ voice and face to many in Brabant as aโฃ presenter for Omroep Brabant, stadium announcer forโข PSV, and โdedicated carnival enthusiast, has been selected as the “Knoergoeie Brabander” (Really Good Brabander) for โฃ2026 โby the Carnival Foundation De Knoerissen. The proclamation was โmade Monday via the foundation’s โฃsocialโค media channels.
Graat, initially taken aback by the โคhonor, โคrecounted being asked to consider the titleโ after being presented with a list of previous recipientsโฃ – โฃincluding Guus Meeuwis, Robโ Scheepers, and Klaas Dijkhoff. “Iโ have no idea,” he admitted recalling his initial response โto โthe foundation. “My โfirst reaction was ‘Why on earth โคare you coming to me?’ But itโข is indeed super sweet that they think of me,” he added. The annual award recognizes individuals who have made a โคmeaningful contribution to the Brabantโ region.
The โค”Knoergoeie Brabander” title is โawarded annually by De Knoerissen to a person whoโข embodiesโค the spirit of Brabant and positively impacts the region.Graat’s selection acknowledges โฃhis diverse contributions to Brabant’s cultural landscape, from broadcasting and sportsโ entertainment to his โactive participation โคin carnival festivities.
“I do what I like with carnival and โeverything around it. I entertain people, that is my โฃhobby and I haveโข made it my job,”โค Graatโ stated, โขadding that receiving the prize feels “a bit awkward” but โultimately “very โspecial.” โ
Graat’sโ passion for entertainment began early,with an illegal radioโ station at age nineโ and DJing in clubs โคacross theโฃ Netherlands by seventeen. He currentlyโฃ hosts radio shows and presents “3 Uurkes Vurraf” on Omroep Brabant. He will officially receive the title at a grand hearing evening on January 31st.
