Harry Kane reached 500 career goals on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s milestone achievement by reaching the mark in 10 fewer games.
The England captain scored twice in the match, bringing his total to 500 goals for club and country. According to data compiled by Transfermarkt, Kane achieved this feat in 834 games, a pace faster than Ronaldo, who required 844 appearances to reach the same landmark. Only Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski have reached 500 career goals at a quicker rate this century.
Kane’s rapid ascent to this milestone places him among an elite group of goalscorers. The Sporting News reported that he is the 27th man to score 500 career goals, and the first Englishman to do so. Prior to his time at Bayern Munich, Kane scored an unparalleled 280 goals in 435 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur.
Since joining Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, Kane has continued his prolific form, scoring 126 goals in 131 matches as of February 14, 2026, including 41 goals in 35 games during the current campaign. He has also secured the Bundesliga Golden Boot in his first two seasons with the club.
On September 26, 2025, Kane also became the fastest player to score 100 goals for a club in Europe’s top five leagues this century, reaching the milestone in just 104 appearances for Bayern Munich. This surpassed the previous records held by both Ronaldo, who took 105 games to reach a century for Real Madrid, and Erling Haaland, who achieved the same feat in 105 games for Manchester City.
“It’s crazy even for me,” Kane told Sky Germany after reaching his 100th goal for Bayern Munich. “It’s an honour to reach 100 goals for this great club. To do it so quickly, I’m very proud of that. Hopefully I can reach another 100 as soon as possible.”
Despite speculation regarding a potential return to the Premier League, Kane has stated his commitment to Bayern Munich, telling Sky Sport Germany, “No, not at the moment. I’m really happy here. I have two years left on my contract. I’m enjoying every moment. That [returning to England] is not in my thought process. I’m enjoying it with the team, with the coach, and hopefully we continue to be successful.”
Kane has also scored 78 senior goals for the England national team, putting him in a strong position as the Three Lions prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
