Emmy-winning showrunner Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion, Alien: Earth) will be the guest of honour at this year’s Canneseries Industry, the international TV showcase running in Cannes April 23-25.
Hawley will attend Canneseries and participate in a “meet with” event, discussing his unique approach too storytelling with industry attendees.
“The global nature of modern television makes gatherings like this fruitful and necessary as we seek to tell stories that reverberate across cultures,” said Hawley in a statement. “I appreciate this recognition from Canneseries Industry and am looking forward to discussing how we can all create more daring, explosive TV.”
Hawley is best known for his work on FX series Fargo, where he served as executive producer, writer, showrunner, and director across 5 seasons.The show earned 70 Primetime Emmy nominations, winning seven. He began his TV career in 2005 as a writer and producer on Bones, and went on to create and run ABC’s My Generation (2009) and The Unusuals (2010). His industry breakout came with FX’s Legion,which he created. He also directed the feature film Lucy in the Sky, starring Natalie Portman, in 2019.

Hawley is a multi-award winner, recognized for his work as a novelist, screenwriter, series creator, showrunner, and director. He’s the author of six novels: “A Conspiracy of Tall Men,” “Other People’s Weddings,” “The Punch,” “The Good Father,” “Before the Fall” and “Anthem.” he also penned “Fargo: This Is A True Story,” a companion book to the first three seasons of the series, released in 2019.
Currently, Hawley is creator, writer, and showrunner on FX series Alien: Earth, with season 2 set to begin production later this year. He is also adapting Ubisoft’s video game Far Cry for television,envisioning each season as a standalone story with a new setting and cast.
Canneseries Industry runs alongside the Canneseries festival (April 23-28) and aims to facilitate connection and collaboration between creatives, financiers, broadcasters, and technical experts. Participants engage in a tailored program featuring panels,speed meetings,and pitch sessions.
