Man Pleadsโ Guilty to โSecond-Degree Murder in Asheville-Area Death
BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. – Javorie Ammon Thompson, 27, โขentered a guilty plea to second-degree murder on Friday, September 5th, in connection with the โdeath of 22-year-oldโ Jeruan Spencer, the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Spencer’s body was foundโข in a โขwooded area near candler, North โCarolina, in August 2023. The finding initiated a homicide investigation by the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
Initial evidence recovered from the Candler site suggested theโฃ crime occurredโ elsewhere. Through diligent investigation, including witness testimonies and forensic analysis,โข authorities resoluteโ Spencer was shotโ inside a vehicle on Haywood Road in West Asheville. His remains were then transported to and abandoned in the wooded area near Candler.
thompson was arrested and charged with murder following a traffic stop in Augustโค 2023. โ He now โฃfaces a sentence of upโ to 15 years – 143 to 184 months – in a North Carolina prison, according โto the District Attorney’s Office.
