Helena Senators host 30th annual Keith Sell American Legion Baseball Tournament
HELENA, MT – The 30th Annual Keith Sell Tournament, a seven-team American Legion Baseball event, is currently underway at Kindrick Legion Field . The tournament honors Keith Sell, a dedicated figure in Helena American Legion baseball for over 40 years, and his family’s legacy within the program .
The Helena Senators, four-time defending champions, are competing alongside teams like the Williston Keybirds, Lethbridge Elks, and Butte Miners . Saturday’s schedule featured five games, with the Senators concluding play against the Williston Keybirds. Pool play records will determine seeding for Sunday’s championship game .
lethbridge Elks Triumph Over butte Miners in Close Contest
In a notable Saturday game, the Lethbridge Elks defeated the Butte Miners 8-7. Elks outfielder Alex Westlund had a remarkable performance,going 4-for-4,marking his return to Kindrick Legion Field after a serious jaw injury sustained during last season’s Helena conference games . Westlund’s recovery took approximately six months, and this weekend represents his first time playing in the same outfield were he was injured .
