Boil Water Advisory in Effect for Lucas,โ Kansas
LUCAS, KSโ – Residentsโ of Lucas, kansas, โฃare underโ a boil water โadvisory โขissued Wednesday, May 8, 2024, following a waterโข main break.The advisory impacts allโ customers of the Lucas Rural Water District no. 1.
The Kansas Department of Healthโ environment (KDHE) issued the โorder after โฃthe โฃbreak potentially compromised theโ water system’s safety.Until โfurther notice, affected residents should boil water for one minute โคprior to drinking, making ice, โคwashing dishes, or cooking. alternatively, โbottled water can be used. The advisory affects โapproximately 300 people in the small centralโ Kansas town.
The Lucas Rural โWater District is working to repair the water main adn restore service. Once repairs are complete, water samples willโ be โtested to ensure water quality โขmeets safety standards.
