Blacktown, NSW – Three men are in critical condition following a two-vehicle crashโ in blacktown โthis afternoon, after one carโ veeredโ onto a โขfootpath adn struck multiple pedestrians.โ Emergency services wereโค called to the intersection โof โBungaribee Road andโค Rooty Hill Road shortly afterโค 2:00 PM, responding to reports of a serious collision.
The incident has prompted an investigation by the Crash Investigation Unit and renewed calls from local residents for safety improvements at the intersection, wich is known for its high traffic โขvolume. Police have established a crimeโ scene as they work to โdetermine theโ cause of the crash.
A witness who was working โfrom homeโ at the time of the incident reported hearing a loud bang. “It’s very sad for the family involved in these crashes. It’s very difficult to see, very hard to see this,” โhe said.
Debris, including shattered glass,โข wasโ scattered across the road following โthe โขimpact. One vehicle, a maroonโค car, sustained notable damage โand was found โtipped on its side. A white car was also heavily damaged.
Abu Naser Kabir,a resident of theโข area for nearly 10 years,stated that while incidents had occurred previously,”they had not been this bad.” He added,”Regrettably,in this intersection we’ve seen a lot of accidents โฆ I believe this intersection needsโค to beโฃ improved considerably.”
Blacktown Police Area Command are continuingโฃ their investigation and appealing for anyone with details โฃto come forward.
