Manchester United Striker Benjamin Sesko faces Uphill Battle Without Midfield Support, Says Club Legend louis Saha
Manchester United’s recent acquisition, Benjamin Sesko, may struggle to find success at the club until the team addresses its midfield issues, according to Red Devils legend Louis Saha. The 21-year-old Slovenian striker, purchased from RB Leipzig for a reported €85 million, has yet to score or assist in his four appearances for United.
Saha, who scored 42 goals in 124 appearances for Manchester United, believes Sesko’s potential hinges on improved connection between the midfield and attack.”I think he (Benjamin Sesko) is able if the manager succeeds in connecting between midfield and striker,” Saha stated in an Athletic podcast. “Unfortunately, we did not get the midfielder we wanted. We are still very weak in the department. And this is why I think Sesko might have difficulty until we finish it.”
Despite acknowledging Sesko’s qualities – his height, aerial ability, and technical skill – saha emphasized the need for playmakers like matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to perform effectively. “He has quality because he is high, he will score goals in the air, and he is also very technical. All his movements are there, so I’m very sure he will get his chances and will score goals,” Saha said. “But to take us to the desired place, I don’t think it will be with him… you will see Sesko difficulties too, [if Cunha and Mbeumo don’t shine].”
