All Blacks Jersey Donated to Charity After Fan’s Plea
A historicโค All Blacks jersey, signed byโข the Barrett brothers, is set to be auctioned โคoff to benefit UpsideDowns Education Trust, following a heartfelt request from a youngโ fan. The donation โขcomes as the charity prepares forโฃ its annual Share the Dream gala dinner โฃthis Saturday at Eden Park.
The Barrett brothers – โBeauden, scott, and Jordaan – are long-time patrons โof UpsideDowns, โa causeโค especially meaningful to their family as their sister, Zara, was born with โฃTrisomy-21. โขTheir mother, Robyn Barrett, described the family asโข “passionate supporters” of the trust, highlighting the critical โฃrole โof early speechโค therapy intervention. “Back inโค the day, most schools had a speech language therapist basedโฃ full-time at school,” โsheโค said. “That is not the case anymoreโข soโ sadly โคmany childrenโฆmiss out on the support they need.” โ
Theโ signed jersey is among a range of auction items, including Ed Sheeranโ concert tickets, aโฃ Queenstown holiday, a five-night stayโ in Rarotonga,โค a signed gael Monfilsโข shirt fromโ the USโฃ open (donated โby ASB classic organisers), autographed Warriors and โคblack Ferns kit, a VIP experienceโค at the upcoming Bledisloe Cup test, and a โคchance to attend โฃan Auckland FC training session.
Auckland FC chief executive Nick Beckerโฃ affirmed the club’s support forโ UpsideDowns Education Trust,โข stating, “We hope everybody has a wonderful evening.”
