Two-time German international Mahmoud Dahoud is back in the Bundesliga seven months after his contract with Borussia Dortmund ended and he moved to Brighton & Hove Albion. VfB Stuttgart has now officially confirmed the 28-year-old midfielder’s loan until the end of the season, including a purchase option.

“We are pleased that Mo Dahoud, a player who will make us even better, has chosen VfB Stuttgart,” explained VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth. “Mo has already proven his enormous footballing quality in the Bundesliga and internationally. We are sure that he will quickly find his way around us and will therefore be a valuable additional option for our game from now on.”

According to media reports, the purchase option that the Swabians can exercise at the end of the season is around 9 million to 10 million euros. In Stuttgart’s history, only two players have been more expensive, including the permanent transfer of top striker Serhou Guirassy last summer, which cost €9 million.

Dahoud is under contract in Brighton until 2027, but has not played a sporting role there for weeks. On matchday 13, the former Dortmund and Gladbacher was sent off with a red card after five starting eleven appearances in the league and has only been allowed to play for one half since then. Dahoud’s market value increased for the first time in two years in December, rising from 12 million to 14 million euros.

At VfB, various midfielders have been mentioned as possible new additions in recent weeks, while the center is well occupied and long-term with Atakan Karazor and Angelo Stiller. According to reports, Yannik Keitel from SC Freiburg has already been signed as an addition for the coming season. The Stuttgart team brought Deniz Undav from Brighton this season, including a purchase option. German clubs can still be active on the transfer market until Thursday, 6 p.m.

After his move, Dahoud said: “It’s nice to be able to play in the Bundesliga again. VfB is a great club with a great tradition and great fans. The team plays exciting and impressive football. I already know a few players from the U21 national team. I’m looking forward to seeing you again at VfB and can’t wait to get started on the pitch with the team.”

Arsenal Surges to the Top of the Premier League, Manchester United Struggles as Aston Villa Competes with Liverpool

Aston Villa draws level with Reds

Arsenal are top of the Premier League again. The “Gunners” deservedly won 2-0 (0-0) against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday thanks to a goal from national player Kai Havertz. The Londoners (39 points) overtook previous leaders Liverpool FC (38), who then only managed a goalless draw against Manchester United. Aston Villa, who came from behind to win 2-1 (0-1) at Brentford FC, are level on points with Liverpool in third place.

The Brazilian Gabriel Jesus (53rd minute) gave Arsenal the lead. The in-form Havertz (87th) made the decision. The hosts were the better team from the start and could have won even more, but missed many opportunities. Brighton, on the other hand, had largely no chance at the Emirates Stadium and only recorded their first and only shot on goal after more than an hour.

Liverpool were the superior team in the intense game against their ailing arch-rivals Man United and created many chances. But Man United, who were eliminated from the Champions League as bottom of their group after a 0-1 loss to FC Bayern during the week, avoided falling behind with a strong defensive performance and even had a few opportunities themselves in the final phase. In stoppage time, Diogo Dalot (90th + 4) saw a yellow-red card. But Liverpool could no longer capitalize on the numerical advantage.

Fourth-placed Manchester City, who lost a two-goal lead in the 2-2 (1-0) win against Crystal Palace on Saturday, are now four points behind Liverpool and Aston Villa and five behind leaders Arsenal.

Ansu Fati Injury Update: Brighton & Hove Albion Striker’s Recovery Timeline and Latest News

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com December 9, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Brighton –

Luck Ansu Fati still hasn’t changed since moving to Brighton & Hove Albion. The striker on loan from Barcelona was again hit by an injury, quite serious.

Ansu Fati was loaned by Barcelona to Brighton last summer. He left the Blaugrana, after difficulties in the last three seasons due to a knee injury he suffered in the 2020/2021 season.

With Brighton, Ansu Fati was initially believed to shine. The Spanish player was able to score 4 goals in 14 matches, one of which helped the Seagull win in the Europa League competition against Ajax.

Until finally, Ansu Fati suffered an injury against Nottingham Forest at the end of last month. The 21 year old player had a hamstring problem.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi then gave the latest update on the matter Ansu Fati. It is said that the La Masia dropout will have to be absent for longer Brighton & Hove Albion.

“I think he needs three months to recover since his injury,” said De Zerbi, reported by the BBC.

“This is bad news for us, because he is starting to play better. He is starting to understand my ideas,” he explained.

As a result, Ansu Fati will have to be absent possibly until next February. This situation has not kept him out of difficult times.

Since his knee injury in the 2020/2021 season, Ansu Fati has had difficulty getting back up. He has only scored 21 goals in three years, only appearing in full in various competitions last season.

Last summer, Ansu Fati decided to leave Barcelona for a moment. He chose Brighton & Hove Albion as its new port.

Brian Brobbey and Jan Paul van Hecke Duel in Ajax – Brighton & Hove Albion Europa League Match

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com November 10, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Brian Brobbey and Jan Paul van Hecke were involved in several mutual duels during Ajax – Brighton & Hove Albion (0-2). The striker and the defender know each other from the Dutch Juniors and both stood in front of the camera after the Europa League match. ESPN.

According to interviewer Cristian Willaert, Van Hecke is good at playing the referee and often talks to the referee. Willaert therefore states that Van Hecke had referee Nikola Dabanovic ‘in his pocket’. “Not completely in my pocket, because I received a yellow card,” responds the Dutch stopper from Brighton.

During the interview with Van Hecke, Brobbey can be heard in the background. “Is he complaining again?” he shouts as a joke. In any case, Van Hecke had his hands full with Brobbey. “You know what he does well: he keeps the opponent, today that was me, very close to him, and then he tries to turn. I try to stop that, but sometimes he falls backwards and you fall too. Then it looks like I’m committing a foul and I get a yellow card.”

Brobbey then appears in front of the camera and discusses the duels with his compatriot. “They were fine. He pulled me down a lot, but that was fine.” The Ajax player also noticed that Van Hecke regularly talked to the referee. “He spoke to them here at halftime. But I don’t know what he said.”

Van Hecke also tried to get Brobbey out of his game. “He’s a smart boy, he’s good at that. I experienced him at the Dutch Juniors. It’s nice when he does that for us.”

💪 Jan Paul van Hecke enjoyed the duels with Brian Brobbey.

Can Maduro Lead Ajax to a Crucial Victory Against Brighton & Hove Albion?

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com October 26, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

After draws against Olympique Marseille and AEK Athens, Ajax must achieve a good result at Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday evening to stay in the race for a place in the knockout phase of the Europa League. That promises to be a hell of a job. Hedwiges Maduro is on the bench for the first time as ‘ultimately responsible’ for the team from Amsterdam, who will kick off with a team that has changed in three places compared to the lost match in Utrecht.

It expects that Algemeen Dagblad at least. Maduro – the temporary replacement for Maurice Steijn, who resigned last Monday – cannot rely on Jay Gorter, Devyne Rensch and Georges Mikautadze in England. Gorter was Steijn’s first goalkeeper after the retirement of Gerónimo Rulli, but had to be replaced in the second half a few days ago when visiting FC Utrecht. Diant Ramaj replaced him and it is expected that the German summer purchase will make his starting debut against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Article continues below video

Although Ajax’s defense was not as leaky as a basket for the first time this season in the ‘relegation cracker’ against FC Utrecht, Maduro does not appear to be taking drastic measures immediately. According to the AD, the interim coach – who responded at the press conference on Wednesday evening to the stories that Steijn and he could not go through the same door together – ‘simply’ opts for Anton Gaaei, Josip Sutalo, Jorrel Hato and Borna Sosa at the back. The latter was one of the bright spots on the Amsterdam side in Utrecht – at least in an attacking sense. He provided the assists on both of Kristian Hlynsson’s goals.

Hlynsson surprisingly appeared at the kick-off in De Galgenwaard for the second time this season. The AD expects that the Icelander will ‘simply’ have to settle for a place on the bench again on Thursday evening. The newspaper opts for a midfield consisting of Benjamin Tahirovic, Kenneth Taylor and Silvano Vos. This means that Maduro will probably opt for a controlling bloc. Vos was missing from the away match against FC Utrecht due to a suspension. Up front, Maduro is reportedly making one change compared to last Sunday. Steven Berghuis replaces Carlos Forbs. Brian Brobbey and Steven Bergwijn complete the attack.

Both Brighton & Hove Albion and Ajax need a good result to stay in the race for qualification for the next round. The British were designated as big favorites for the group win prior to the start of the group stage, but are only one point after two games. After the defeat against AEK Athens, the visit to Marseille did not get any further than a draw. The winner of the meeting between Brighton and Ajax is therefore doing good business.

Will Maduro immediately lead Ajax to an important victory?

35.2% Yes, the turnaround starts tonight! 64.8% No, Brighton is far too strong
