Georgia Governor kemp Leads Trade โขMission to South America
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, accompanied by first Lady Marty Kemp, is currently leading a trade mission to Brazil and Argentina this week. The delegation includes representatives from the โฃGeorgia Departments of โEconomic Development and Agriculture,as โwell as theโ georgia Ports Authority.
The mission aims to strengthen existing trade โrelationships โand โfoster new economic opportunities for Georgia businesses. Last year, Georgia โฃexported $748 โmillion โworth of goods to Brazil and $120โ million to Argentina.
“We’re always eager to โฃgrow those pipelines of opportunity โขso more Georgiansโ from โall parts of the state can benefit,” โฃGovernorโค Kemp stated on Monday.
The trip also commemorates a important milestone: the 30th anniversaryโ ofโ Georgia’s trade office in Brazil. Georgia Commissioner of โฃAgriculture Tyler Harper expressed his anticipation, saying, “I look forward โขto working with our partners in Brazil and Argentina โto continue to build upon our already strong relationship.”
According to Patโข Wilson, โgeorgia’s Commissionerโ of Economic Development, “Georgia’s connectivity toโข Southโฃ America means opportunity.” She highlighted the โคpotential for collaboration, noting that Brazil and โArgentina are โขhome to major agriculture and infrastructureโค companies that align with Georgia’s strengths in agribusiness, food, and beverage industries.
Along with economic development โefforts,Maj. Gen. Richard โข”Dwayne” Wilson,Georgia’sโ adjutant general,will participate in the mission. He is โscheduled โคto meetโ with members of the Georgia National Guard โand their counterparts in Argentina as part of the โขDepartment of Defense State Partnership Program.
