SAN ANTONIO – Heavyโข traffic and limited parking areโ impacting the downtown area as Chris Brown’s Breezy Bowl XX concertโ draws over 50,000 fans to โthe Alamodome Saturday evening. โEast Cesar Chavez Boulevard is currently experiencing โคsignificantโค congestion,a situation Alamodome officials anticipated.
The concert isโค scheduled to begin at โ7 p.m., and many attendees โขareโข already arriving, withโข a visible presence of โfansโค wearing Chris Brown merchandise. Parking is a major concern, with โฃonlyโ 2,800 spaces available โฃforโ the expected crowd of โ45,000. Organizers reportโ a large number โof concertgoers are choosing โฃto forgo driving to avoidโข parking difficulties.
The Sanโฃ Antonio Policeโข Departmentโ (SAPD) has implemented a traffic management plan to mitigate congestion, directingโฃ vehicles traveling from west of highway 37 eastward toward the Alamodomeโฃ viaโ routes north and south of East Cesarโข Chavez โblvd. Alamodome representative Richard โOliver stated this strategy, combined with VIA Metropolitan Transit buses, has shown success in reducing traffic during previousโข events over the past year.
Recent concernsโฃ from residents regarding VIA โbus traffic have been addressed by relocating bus โdrop-off and pick-up locationsโ to the โnorth and west sides โof the venue.
