Breda,โข Netherlands โ- The Playmobil Museum,โ home to over 100,000โ Playmobil figures, is relocatingโ from its ten-year location withinโข Breda โขstation after โคDutch Railways found a new tenant for the space. The museum, which began as โaโข three-month Christmas village overโ a decade ago, evolved into a โคpopular attraction known as the Happyโฃ Station, complete with a store and community โคmeeting space. The relocation impacts not only the โdedicated โคvolunteers butโฃ also visitors, notably โคthose with benefits or disabilities who found the museum to be anโ critically importent social hub, according to initiator Patric van Boven Kaarsmaker. โฃ”He โขknew that the moment would โcome, but that the thump for โคthe volunteers was still huge,” Omroep Brabant reported.
The museum is movingโ toโ a vacantโ garage on the Teteringsedijk, operating under an anti-squat agreement for the next two years.โข Organizers aim โฃto โขreopen the shop and โฃmuseum for the Christmas โฃseason โคon โฃOctoberโ 1st. Van Boven Kaarsmaker remains optimistic, stating,โฃ “It gets even more gorgeous โคthan it was.”
Volunteer Bas van London, 47, acknowledged โขthe emotional toll of the move, โฃsaying, “I’m having a hard time with it. โขIt’s a wholeโ part of your lifeโฃ that you throw away.” The collection includesโข 21 buildings, one of which measuredโค 15 byโข 6.5 meters and took a month to construct.
