Austin FC Goalkeeper brad Stuver Signs Contract Extension Through 2027
AUSTIN,TX – Austinโ FC has secured goalkeeper Bradโ Stuver throughโ the โฃend of the 2027 season with an option for 2028,the club announcedโ today. The extension ensures the continued presence ofโ a foundational player who has been instrumental โto Austin FC’s success since its inception.
Stuver joined Austin FC โคas a freeโ agent on December 28, 2020, โahead of the โteam’s inaugural season. He has since appearedโฃ in all but seven of the Club’s 176 matches, becoming the all-time leader in games played.The contract extension solidifies Stuver’s โขposition as a โkey figure โขfor Austin FC, both on and off the field, and providesโ stability to the team’s defensive core.

Stuver’s accolades include selection to the MLSโ all-Star Team in โ2025, and leading the league in saves in bothโข 2023 โand 2024. He has recorded 615 saves and 35 clean sheets in MLS regular season play during his five seasons with the club, andโฃ is on track to possibly โคbreak the MLSโข record for โขmost โsaves โฃby a goalkeeper in a five-year span, needing โฃjust six moreโข saves before the end of the โ2025 season.

Stuver has been recognized as Austin FC’s Defensive Player of the Yearโ in 2021, 2022, and 2024. He has also proven clutch in โpivotal โmoments, saving two penalty kicks in shootoutsโข during austin FC’s first-ever MLS โCup โฃPlayoff win against Real Salt Lake in October 2022, โฃand a U.S. Open Cupโ Quarterfinal victory over San โjose Earthquakes in July 2025.
Beyond his athletic achievements, stuver has been a dedicated community advocate, earning nominations for the ESPN Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award in both 2022 and 2023, andโ multiple-time finalist for MLS Works โHumanitarian of the Year for his work across Central Texas.
