Jake Paul to Face Anthony Joshua in High-Stakes Boxing match Next Month
MIAMI - A blockbuster boxing match between Jake paul and Anthony Joshua has been officially announced, set to take place next month and streamed live globally on Netflix. The fight, confirmed today, pits the rising social media star Paul against the established heavyweight contender Joshua in a clash of generations and boxing styles.
The bout represents a significant step up in competition for Paul (11-1), who has built a boxing record with victories over former MMA fighter Tyron Woodley, ex-UFC champion Anderson Silva, and most recently, Julio cesar Chavez Jr. via unanimous decision in June, and previously Mike Tyson via unanimous decision. For Joshua (28-4), the fight offers a high-profile opportunity following a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois on September 21, 2024, for the IBF heavyweight title. “Jake or anyone can get this work. No mercy,” joshua stated. “I took some time out and I’m coming back with a mega show. it’s a big opportunity for me. Whether you like it or not, I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm and collected. mark my words, you’ll see a lot more fighters take these opportunities in the future. I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”
The fight was initially rumored after Paul’s scheduled bout with Gervonta Davis fell through due to allegations against Davis involving battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. UFC President Dana White acknowledged the widespread interest in the matchup, stating, ”Let me tell you what, a lot of people will watch that one… everybody’s tuning in for on that one. I think everybody’s going to get what they’ve finally been waiting for.”
