Giant hailstonesโข and destructiveโฃ winds swept across south-east Queensland this afternoon, causing widespreadโฃ damage and disruption. Hailstones measuring 5.5-6cm were recorded at Tamrookum,โ as a severe storm system moved north, impacting areas from the Gold โCoastโ to โฃBrisbane.
The โState Emergency Service (SES) responded toโ 1,000 calls for assistance amid theโค intense weather. Flights at โฃbrisbane Airportโ were temporarily โhalted for โapproximately one hour, and residents โคin โaffected areasโค are bracing for furtherโ heavy rainfall.โ The Bureau of Meteorology warns that the system is continuing to track northwards, posing an ongoing threat to communities along the Queensland โcoast.โค
