Belรฉm, Brazil – November 20, 2025 – India’s Environment, Forest and Climate Changeโข Minister Bhupender Yadav โengaged in a series of bilateral meetings on teh sidelines of COP30 inโ Belรฉm, Brazil, today, focusing onโ climateโข cooperation and maintaining the integrity of the Paris Agreement.
Yadavโ met with China’s Special envoy for Climate Change, Mr. Liu Zhenmin,โค discussing coordination among Like-Minded Developing (LMDC) countries within COP30. “Our discussions involved matters related to coordination between LMDC countries in the ongoing developments in COP30, with particular focus on maintaining theโข integrity of โฃthe Paris Agreement,” Yadav statedโฃ in โขa post โon X.
Discussions โwith Cuba’s Minister of Science, Technology and Environment centered on potential collaboration in renewable energy. Cuba’s membership in bothโ the LMDC, the Coalition for Disaster โResilient Infrastructure (CDRI), and the International โคSolar Alliance (ISA) – where โฃIndia provides technical expertise forโ solar projects – wereโ highlighted as avenues forโข further collaboration.
Yadav also held talks with Japanese Environment Minister Hirotaka Ishihara, focusing on the implementation of the Joint Credit Mechanism and other areas of India-Japan cooperation. A meetingโ with โคGerman โFederal โคMinister for the Environment,Climate Action,Nature Conservation and Nuclear safety,Carsten Schneider,resulted in a “fruitful discussion on โimplementing the principles of the Paris Agreementโค for the efficient execution in the ongoing COP30” and โคways to enhanceโ climate action.
Further discussions were heldโ with Lars Aagaard Moller,minister for Climate,Energy and Utilities of Denmark,and wopke Hoekstra,EUโข Commissioner for โClimate Action,with a focus on COP agenda items and โIndia-EU climate partnerships.
Negotiators from over 190 countries are currently gathered in โขBelรฉm for the annual Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention onโ Climate Change (UNFCCC).
