Spa Gears Up for a Wet and Wild Belgian Grand Prix Weekend

This Belgian Grand Prix weekend deviates from the norm. Drivers will have only one practice session to dial in their cars, a necessity given the Sprint race format. Friday’s session will be crucial for setting competitive times for qualifying. Saturday will feature the Sprint competition, a 15-lap dash, followed by the main qualifying session for Sunday’s Grand Prix. In the opening practice session, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri set the pace, topping the timesheets.He was closely followed by Red Bull’s max Verstappen and Piastri’s McLaren teammate,Lando Norris.
Franco Colapinto concluded the sole practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix in 19th position. The Argentine driver finished six tenths behind his teammate Pierre Gasly, who secured 17th place. Colapinto will now focus on preparing for the Sprint race qualifying.

Further improving his time, Colapinto advanced to 16th place.The Argentine driver utilized soft tires, and despite a moment where he nearly lost control of his car in a corner, he managed to stay on track and complete his run.
After a period in the pits, Colapinto returned to the track equipped with soft tires. The Alpine driver was back out to continue testing his car.
Earlier in the session, Colapinto experienced a moment where he almost lost control of his car. The Argentine driver managed to brake and correct his slide, preventing him from going off track. He afterward entered the pits for a tire change and a car inspection.
