BEAVER CREEK, COLORADO – december 2, 2023 – Vincentโ Kriechmayr of โฃAustria secured his 19th World Cup victory today in the super-G race atโ Beaver Creek, โColorado, a track where heโฃ first tasted World Cup successโ eight years ago โin โthe same discipline. The race wasโ considerably disrupted by strong winds, snowfall, and a lengthy delay causedโ by a fall from Swiss skier Franjo Vonโ Allmen.
Kriechmayr finished with a time โขof โ1’06″77. Norway’s โFredrik moeller finished second, just 56 hundredths of a second behind, while Austria’s Raphael haaserโ rounded out the podium โขat 1″03 โขback.

The race start was initiallyโ postponed by 45 โขminutes due to challenging weather conditions. Mattia Casse โwas the first racerโ to descend โขafterโค the extended delay, struggling with visibility andโ accumulating a time 2″77 behindโ Kriechmayr. Guglielmo Bosca finished 21st, 2″57 back, followed byโ Innerhofer in โฃ23rd โat โข2″94. Giovanni Franzoni achieved a strong tenth-place finish, 1.5 โฃseconds behind the winner, despite starting with bib number 2.
An unusual incident occurred with Canadian skier Jeffrey โRead, whoโ lost a glove andโค pole afterโ colliding with a gate, forcing him to abandon his run.Theโข race โwas ultimately halted before the descent of Braathen (bib number 32), butโฃ the results wereโข approved as final.
