Jakarta – Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is reportedly poised to lead a transitional government in the Gaza Strip as part of a U.S.-backed peace plan. Discussions are underway regarding Blair’s role in heading the post-conflict authority in the region, according to reports.
BBC News reports Blair will lead the government authority with support from the united Nations and Gulf countries, with some sources indicating he has been asked to serve on a supervisory board. The potential appointment has garnered attention internationally, including in Indonesia where Blair was recently discussed in connection with the Anagata Nusantara Investment Fund Management Agency (BP and Antara).
