Police in the Ndamatou/Touba district have successfully dismantled a violent criminal group known for ambushes and getaway operations. The arrests followed a brutal attack on a telecom agent.

The operation began after a complaint was filed by an agent supervisor from the telephone operator Yas, who resides in Ndame, Touba. On the night of June 22, 2025, around 10 p.m., as the agent was returning home, he was intercepted by two individuals. One of the assailants struck him with a machete before snatching his bag. the stolen bag contained several Yas SIM cards, a national identity card, a UBA bank card, four mobile phones (including an iPhone 13 pro Max, an iPhone 11 Pro, a Redmi Note, and a Tecno), and 150,000 FCFA.
