Central Bankโค of Egypt Meeting Set for Novemberโ 20, 2025, as High-Yield Certificates Draw Investor Interest
CAIRO – The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has scheduled โits next interest rate meeting for November 20, 2025, as egyptians increasingly seek secure, fixed-income investment options amid ongoing economic conditions. The CBEโ convenes eightโค interest rate meetings annuallyโค to manage inflation and guide monetary policy.โ
These meetingsโข areโค closelyโฃ watched by citizens looking to maximize returns on savings, โฃparticularly through fixed-rate certificates ofโฃ deposit.โฃ Currently, the National Bankโ of Egypt is offering a leading โrate of 17%โ annually on 3-year “platinum certificates,” providing a consistent monthly incomeโ stream. thisโฃ comes as theโ CBE utilizes โขinterestโ rate adjustmentsโฃ as a key tool to control โinflation, lowering rates โwhen โprices stabilize and raising them when inflationโฃ rises.
According to Mohammed Al-Etreby, President of the Egyptian Banks Union โand โคCEO โof the National โขBankโ of Egypt, the 17% fixed-return โcertificates remain available. speaking from Washington, D.C., Al-Etrebyโข stated these certificates โoffer a monthly interestโค payout and areโค available in increments startingโข at 1,000โข Egyptian pounds.
For โฃa 100,000 Egyptian pound investment over three โฃyears, these certificates yield approximately 1,416โ Egyptian pounds per month-aโค total of โฃ50,784 Egyptian pounds โฃover the 36-month term. The Nationalโค bank of Egypt’s offering โคprovides a stable income source,โฃ supplementing salaries and โpensions for many Egyptians. Savings certificates, in general, provide citizens with either fixedโ or variable returnsโ tied to the CBE’s announced interest โrates.
