Delayed and $20K more expensive: the Tesla Cybertruck is now available for delivery

In what seemed like a never-ending mystery story (an intriguing story at the beginning; regrettable at times and tiring at the end), we can all finally say that the Tesla Cybertruck is now available to begin deliveries. Recall that this truck was first announced in 2019, and Elon Musk himself promised that it would be available for less than $40,000 and that it would go into production in 2021.
Of course, Elon. Good ‘ol times!..

Tesla postponed it several times over the past five years. It was so difficult trying to produce the Cybertruck to meet market expectations that even Musk himself said in an earnings call that they had “dig[ed]his own grave” with this truck.

Fiat’s 500e returns with electric elegance

Fiat
The 2024 Fiat 500e marks the return of an electric vehicle that its manufacturer once asked Americans not to buy, but the timing of the new version, which is scheduled to arrive in early 2024, seems impeccable.

The first Fiat 500e was sold only in California and Oregon, and was built exclusively to satisfy California’s zero-emission vehicle mandate. Early EV enthusiasts liked it, thanks to an affordable price and retro styling inherited from a concurrent gasoline 500 model. But Sergio Marchionne, then head of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (the predecessor of Fiat’s current parent, Stellantis), said the company lost money on each car and once stated that he hoped customers wouldn’t buy it.

The Toyota Urban is the low-priced electric crossover we expect

Toyota might finally be ready to take electrification a little more seriously. The Japanese automaker has been extremely slow in making electric cars, but recently revealed the new Toyota Urban, which will be the Japanese brand’s attempt at a low-cost, mass-produced electric vehicle.

In particular, the Urban could go toe-to-toe with cars like the Volvo EX30 and Hyundai Kona Electric as another small SUV that’s built to be an affordable alternative to higher-cost cars like the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6. Toyota unveiled the car at its annual Kenshiki Forum in Brussels.
Toyota
It’s important to note that at this point, the Urban is really just a concept, and will likely get a new name by the time it’s ready for production. Toyota has been using the “bz” name for its electric cars, and that is likely to continue.

Otoinfo – The presence of a new automatic scooter from Kawasaki, namely the Kawasaki Ninja Matic 160, has shaken the two-wheeled market in Indonesia.

Introduced as the main competitor to the Yamaha NMax and Honda PCX, this scooter offers slimmer dimensions at a very affordable price, around IDR 20 million.

Reporting from the official YouTube source YRP Official, the Kawasaki Ninja Matic 160 appears with an engine with a capacity of 160 cc which is equipped with an injection combustion system.

This smaller engine does not reduce thrust, but actually increases fuel efficiency which makes it more durable and economical.

Staying true to Kawasaki’s reputation for providing the best features, this scooter will be equipped with advanced technology such as keyless features, power outlets, digital meter panels, LED lights and ABS braking systems.

With the specifications revealed, Kawasaki is hopeful Kawasaki Ninja Matic 160 can compete with the Yamaha NMax and Honda PCX which dominate the market.

The modern and elegant design of the automatic maxi scooter is expected to attract consumers, especially young people who want style and functionality in one vehicle.

Not only in design and features, the performance of the Kawasaki Ninja Matic 160 is also promised to be no less than its competitors.

Leaks regarding faster performance than other automatic scooters such as the Honda PCX and Yamaha NMax have made two-wheeled fans in Indonesia even more enthusiastic.

If all this is true, this automatic scooter promises an interesting combination: nimble performance, stylish styling, and an affordable price.

Former President Donald Trump Meets Striking Auto Workers in Michigan Instead of Participating in Republican Presidential Debate

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 19, 2023

Former President Donald Trump will travel next week to Michigan, a swing state, to meet with striking auto workers instead of participating in the Republican Party’s second presidential debate, a person familiar with his plans said Monday.

Trump, who also did not participate in the first debate last month, indicated that he is already focused on the 2024 elections against President Joe Biden, enjoying a wide advantage over his Republican rivals in the polls ahead of the primaries. The former president has been frequently referring to the strike, expressing his empathy for workers and accusing Biden of trying to destroy the auto industry by pushing the use of electric vehicles and other green energy policies.

The Sept. 27 trip, which was first reported by The New York Times, will also include a prime-time speech, according to the person familiar with the plans, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity before make the trip public.

That’s the date other Republican hopefuls will gather at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, for the party’s second debate.

When the other Republican hopefuls met last month in Milwaukee, Trump participated in an interview with Tucker Carlson that was pre-recorded and broadcast on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, during the first hour of the debate.

Trump has sought to project himself as a champion of the “forgotten men and women” of the working class, and spent much of his 2016 campaign holding events in troubled Rust Belt towns. due to less focus on mining and manufacturing activity.

A few months ago, Trump visited East Palestine, Ohio, after a train derailed near the site, a trip that aides have called a key moment in his campaign as he tried to recover from losses in the midterm elections. and while they tried to put their defeat in 2020 behind them.

Ammar Moussa, a spokesman for the Biden campaign, said Monday: “Donald Trump is going to Michigan next week to lie to workers and pretend he didn’t spend his entire failed presidency selling them out at every opportunity. Instead of standing up for workers, Trump cut taxes for super-millionaires while auto companies closed their doors and sent American jobs overseas.”

On Monday, the United Auto Workers union and Detroit’s Big Three automakers resumed talks aimed at ending a four-day strike. Stellantis called the talks “constructive.” A General Motors spokesman said company and UAW representatives were still negotiating.
