Three Salzburg players in the sights of Manchester United

Top international clubs often look to Salzburg.

In recent years, one or two super talents have matured on the Salzach.

With Manchester United, an English giant is now also set to focus on the city of Mozart in search of future reinforcements.

“Fußball.News” reported on Saturday that United is interested in Israeli playmaker Oscar Gloukh. The youngster could be Bruno Fernandes’ successor in the long term. His development is therefore being closely monitored.

The “Red Devils” are also looking for a new man for the right wing. According to the report, Danish youngster Adam Daghim is on the list for the time being.

Baidoo reportedly also on United list

A defender from the “Bulls” could also be of interest to United.

ÖFB international Samson Baidoo, who has recently been linked with some of United’s league rivals, is also said to be a person of interest.

Baidoo and Gloukh are under contract in Salzburg until 2027, while Daghim’s contract runs until 2028. Gloukh’s market value is already an impressive 25 million euros. Baidoo (8 million euros) and Daghim (2 million euros) are rated lower.

Red Bull Salzburg still interested in Valencia jewel

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 21, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

FC Red Bull Salzburg is known for always being on the lookout for young talent. The Mozart City team was first linked with Spanish defensive talent Yarek Gasiorowki at the beginning of 2023.

According to the report by the Spanish “As”, the “Bulls” are still interested in the Valencia player. The Austrian Champions League participant has well-known competition. Both Real Madrid and Inter Milan have the 19-year-old on their radar.

45 million Euro exit clause

At the end of the day, the price could also be a sticking point for Salzburg. The left-footer is anything but cheap. With a contract until 2026, he has a market value of 15 million euros. However, his contract would automatically be extended for another year if he makes 20 appearances in the current season.

According to the report, the 19-year-old’s release clause is a whopping €45 million. The 1.92-meter-tall man with Polish roots made his debut for Valencia in October 2023 and has since made 18 appearances. He has played two games this season. Yarek won the U19 European Championship with Spain in July of this year.

ADMIRAL Bundesliga under scheduling pressure due to game cancellations

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 16, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

After the weather-related cancellation of three top division matches this weekend (LAOLA1 reported>>>), the scheduling stress in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga is increasing.

The focus is primarily on Red Bull Salzburg. The runners-up have two games left in the championship, but are also involved in the Champions League. There should be fewer problems with the rescheduled matches of Austria Vienna against Sturm Graz and Hartberg against WSG Tirol.

Salzburg’s first game postponement occurred in August, when the club secured a rescheduling of its home game against Hartberg in order to have enough recovery time for the return match in the Champions League playoff against Dynamo Kiev. The duel with TSV will now take place on December 4th.

Salzburg before stressful Christmas season

Before that, there is no free date left for the “Bulls”, even if they fail in the second round of the ÖFB Cup against Wiener Viktoria on September 25th.

Even in this case, the home match against Austria Klagenfurt, which was planned for Saturday, could not be played in the last week of October because the cup round of 16 will take place on that date and the Carinthians are already in the round of 16.

Therefore, the Salzburg – Klagenfurt match will probably take place on December 14th or 15th, one week after the planned end of the year in the Bundesliga. Before that, Salzburg will play at home in the league against Rapid (December 7th) and in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain (December 10th).

The Bundesliga is not interested in moving Salzburg – Klagenfurt to 2025 – if only because a new transfer phase begins in January and the accusation of a certain falsification could therefore not be completely refuted.

Clarity about the new dates should be available soon, as the league has announced that it will announce all new dates on Monday.

Salzburg’s Solet linked with move to Greece

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 11, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Is Oumar Solet leaving FC Red Bull Salzburg after all?

The 24-year-old Frenchman is linked with a move to Greece by the sports portal “SDNA”. An unnamed club is said to be considering signing the central defender.

However, the Greek transfer window is only open until Wednesday (September 11). There is not much time left to get a possible deal done.

Solet recently part of Salzburg team training again

(Article continues below the video)

Solet was dropped from the squad at the end of last season by interim coach Onur Cinel – presumably because of disciplinary missteps. A transfer this summer was considered as good as certain. However, this has not yet happened. The right-footer does not appear in the “Bulls” Champions League squad.

The defender trained with FC Liefering for a while in the summer. Most recently, however, the former Lyon defender was part of the team training under Salzburg coach Pep Lijnders. This was reported by the “Kronen Newspaper“.

So will Solet now be “reintegrated” into the team or will there be another move? The next few days will show.

FC Basel acquire attacking talent from Austria Vienna

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 10, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

FC Basel have acquired the services of talented striker Michael Izunwanne. The 17-year-old is moving from Vienna in Austria to Switzerland.

Izunwanne is a dual Polish-Nigerian citizen and was born in Vienna. He plays for Poland at national team level. The attacker scored a total of eleven goals in 18 games for the U17 team. At this year U17-EM he scored four goals in four games.

In the 2022/23 season, the youngster was crowned the shooting king in the ÖFB U16 Youth League with 26 goals. In the last season he entered the Regional league East for the Young Violets in three appearances.

At Basel, Izunwanne “will first be integrated into the U19 team and will probably also be part of the team that the red-blue team represents this season. UEFA Youth will be represented,” said the striker’s new club in a press release.

FAK debut? Raguz “in shape to play”

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com September 10, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

In the summer of 2022, Austria Vienna brought the then U-21 national player Marko Raguz from LASK to Vienna for a reported 1.3 million euros. The offensive player had previously impressed the “athletes” both in international competitions and in the domestic ADMIRAL Bundesliga.

Injury stops talent

(Text continues below)

However, Raguz was already suffering from pubic bone inflammation at the time of the transfer, and this turned out to be more serious than hoped.

“At the time, we thought we were getting a bargain. If you look at it from the outside, you could say that was nonsense. The fact was that we had all the medical reports at the time of the transfer and believed that things would soon be back to normal. Unfortunately, things turned out differently,” said Jürgen Werner, the sporting director of Wiener Austria, in mid-August.

Due to the injury, Raguz has not been able to play a single competitive game for Austria in the last two seasons.

In total, the 26-year-old missed 178 competitive matches and admitted to “Sky” that he had considered ending his career: “At the beginning of the year and at the end of last year, it was very, very hard. There was a time when I was really wondering whether the whole thing still made sense.”

But now Marko Raguz’s ordeal seems to be over for the time being. He has already made three appearances for the Young Violets in the Regionalliga Ost and thus completed his first competitive minutes in violet. The Upper Austrian native was also recently allowed to play for the professional team for the first time in a test match against SKN St. Pölten.

Competitive debut is imminent

“It is extremely pleasing that he was finally able to make his debut and that everything went very well. You can see his qualities in training, but you still have to be cautious. Marko has to keep going like this now. It has been a totally positive story since I have been here and I am optimistic that we are on the right track,” head coach Stephan Helm told “ViolaTV”.

Helm also predicts that the eight-time U-21 team player will soon be playing time with the pros: “I think he is already in a good enough shape to play minutes. The qualities he has, especially in the penalty area, to pass and hold on to balls, are as they have always been. But we must always keep in mind that we have to introduce him slowly. We are doing this in close consultation with the medical department, which has done a very good job, and with him himself, of course.”

Now there is hope that Raguz, who once joined the “Veilchen” as a royal transfer, will still be able to prove his potential and talent, more than two years late.
