Kimball‘s Walker & wilson Lead Nominees for Martin Dentistry Football Athlete of teh Week, Week 2
Tracy, CA – Kimball High School quarterbacks dominated early nominations for the Martin Dentistry Football Athlete of the Week, following standout performances in Week 2 victories. Quarterback Justin walker and athlete Josiah Wilson are among the contenders, recognized for thier pivotal roles in securing wins for the Jaguars.
Walker lead Kimball to an upset victory over Escalon, throwing for 358 yards on 27 of 44 passes with a touchdown. It marked the second-highest passing yard total of his career. Meanwhile, Wilson showcased remarkable versatility against Merrill West, accounting for five total touchdowns – two receiving, a pick-six, a kickoff return, and a scoop-and-score. These performances highlight Kimball’s offensive firepower and solidify their position as a team to watch this season.
“He’s a guy,” coach Derek Graves said of Walker. “He’s a playmaker. That’s what he does.”
Wilson echoed a similar sentiment about his own adaptability. “I could play receiver, I could play quarterback, I could play defensive back, punt returner and kick returner,” Wilson said. “I could really do it all.I’m really a coachable guy.”
