Schmiden, Germany – Tickets are now on sale for Gymnastik International, a long-standing competition in rhythmic gymnastics, which will take place on March 14th and 15th, 2026, in Schmiden, near Fellbach. The event serves as a key early-season competition for athletes preparing for the 2026 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Frankfurt later that year.
Organized by the rhythmic gymnastics department of TSV Schmiden e.V., Gymnastik International has established itself as a fixture on the international calendar, attracting top gymnasts from across Europe and beyond. This year’s competition gains added significance as it provides an early opportunity to observe athletes as they prepare for the World Championships, hosted in Frankfurt from August 12th to 16th, 2026.
The two-day program will begin on Saturday, March 14th, with the Junior Women’s Team Challenge Individuals, alongside all-around competitions for senior women, both individually and in group routines. Sunday, March 15th, will feature the apparatus finals for junior women (individual), senior women (individual) and senior women’s groups.
The upcoming World Championships in Frankfurt are expected to draw approximately 300 of the world’s best rhythmic gymnasts to the city’s Festhalle. German gymnast Darja Varfolomeev is already a focus of anticipation, having achieved a dominant performance at “Die Finals” in Dresden, securing all five national championship titles. Her success follows a remarkable 2023, where she won five gold medals at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Valencia and earned the title of Germany’s Sportswoman of the Year after her performance at the Paris Olympics.
Varfolomeev will be joined by Margarita Kolosov, Anastasia Simakova, and the German group, all medalists from recent European and World Championships, as they prepare to compete on home soil in Frankfurt. Advance ticket sales for the World Championships are scheduled to begin on November 27, 2025.
Gymnastik International also precedes a present titled “Wonderful World of Gymnastics” scheduled for August 15, 2026, in Frankfurt, which will feature performances from German gymnastics federations and international guests.
