Dentists Accused of โฌ2.3M Insurance Fraud attempted to Flee France
Gargenville, France -โ Dentists at โขthe center of a suspected โฌ2.3 million fraud scheme involving the Primary Health Insurance Fundโฃ (CPAM) allegedly attemptedโ to flee the country as investigations โclosed in,โฃ authorities revealed. The practitioners, facing โa trial scheduled for March 2026 at theโข versailles court, are currently under judicial control, prohibiting them from practicing dentistry and โฃleaving French territory.
The alleged fraud includes โขa โฌ500,000 prejudice to โthe CPAM. Searches of properties linked to โthe dentists uncovered significant amounts of cash andโ valuable watches.
According to sources close toโ the investigation, the accused dentists began seeking โขways to leave Franceโค inโ recent months, withโค at least one reportedly exploring options for โฃrelocation toโ Switzerland. Requests for “stateโ of โขsituation” documents from the orderโ of dental โsurgeons – typically sought by practitioners intending to practice abroad – were made but ultimately denied.
“Whenโค you ask for such a document, it is indeed as you intendโค to move abroad,” โฃa source stated. The order of dentalโ surgeons proactively โฃinvestigated the โrequests, and justice officials afterward โimplemented aโข territory exit โban. “In principle โคof precaution and in the interest of patientsโฆ Justice โฃhas proven us right with this Territory exit ban.”
Further complicating the situation, sources indicate the dentists may continue to receive income from the dental practice, benefiting from their majority ownership โof the structure.
The dentists, who maintain their innocence, haveโฃ not responded toโ inquiriesโค from 78 โnews.
This case is not isolated.A March 2025 โ actu.fr investigation revealed widespread issues within low-cost dental centers, highlightingโข concerns over questionable care and social โsecurity โฃfraud. The National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) reported detecting and halting a record โฌ628 million in fraudulent activity in 2024.
