NFL Announces Historic โInclusion of Puerto Rican Sign Language in Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show
SANTA โขCLARA, CA – โThe National Football Leagueโฃ will makeโฃ history at Super Bowl LVIII with the inclusion of Puerto Rican Sign Language (PRSL) in its halftimeโค show performance by Bad โขBunny, theโค league announced Novemberโ 30. This โmarks โthe first time a multilingual signing program incorporating PRSL will โคbe featured at the Super Bowl.
The initiative will be led by deaf Puerto Rican performer Celimar Rivera Cosme. All โsigned performances for the Super Bowl pregameโค lineup and halftime show are collaborations with Alexis Kashar โof LOVE SIGN and Howard โคRosenblum of Deaf Equality.
Prior to โขBad BunnyS performance, Brandi Carlile will perform “America the Lovely” and Coco Jones will deliver “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” the Black national anthem, at โLevi’s Stadium on February 8. Fred Beam will sign both anthems, while Julian Ortiz will translate โข”America the Beautiful” into American Sign โคLanguage.

Theโ Super Bowl halftime Show is producedโ byโค Diversified Production Services, โคwithโฃ Roc Nation and Jesse Collins asโข executive producers.
The announcement comes amidst โฃcontroversy surrounding Bad Bunny’s performance, with complaints from former President Donald trump and his supporters regarding โคthe artist’s music and political views.
Leading up to theโค Superโฃ Bowl, the Bay Area will host a series โof fan events and concerts featuring artists โฃsuch as Sting, The Killers, and oakland native Kehlani.
