Egyptian actor Karim Sami Maghawry is recovering in intensive care after experiencing complications following four recent surgeries,attributing his current condition to post-operative self-neglect. The 34-year-old son of veteran actor Sami Maghawry shared details of his health struggles on social media, prompting concern from fans and colleagues.Maghawry underwent a series of complex procedures over the past two and a half months to address a diaphragmatic hernia, requiring stomach wiring, a partial stomach resection, and the creation of a new digestive pathway. While the surgeries were initially successful, Maghawry revealed on Instagram that he disregarded his doctor’s prescribed three-month recovery plan involving diet, hydration, and vitamin intake. This neglect led to a deterioration of his health, ultimately necessitating admission to intensive care. “The operations are not the cause… Neglect is the reason,” he stated.
In a Facebook post last July,Maghawry announced his planning for the “dangerous process” in his stomach,which lasted approximately six hours. Following the initial surgeries, he expressed gratitude for the support he received and requested continued prayers. He detailed the extent of the procedures,emphasizing the need for a strict recovery regimen.
Maghawry is currently receiving care in intensive care, having posted on facebook that he was spending his second night there, asking for healing and forgiveness.
