LOS ANGELES, November 6, 2024 – blake lively has disclosed over $127.4 million in alleged financial losses stemming from what she claims was misconduct and subsequent online attacks by actor Justin Baldoni following the production of the domestic violence film I.E.W.U.,according to a recently unsealed court document. The filing, made public November 5, also reveals Taylor Swift as a potential trial witness.
The detailed accounting, presented in a September disclosure document, breaks down Lively’s claimed damages into lost earnings, lost profits, and non-economic damages. Specifically, Lively alleges lost earnings of “not less than $56,200,000” and lost profits of “approximately $71,000,000,” both figures subject to expert testimony. These losses encompass past and future on-screen work, endorsements, speaking engagements, and revenue from her blake Brown Beauty products and Betty B Holdings beverage company.
Beyond financial setbacks, Lively is seeking between $250,000 and $400,000 for “pain and suffering, physical pain, and humiliation,” and approximately $34,000,000 for “reputational harm,” again subject to expert evaluation.The document notes these figures represent minimum estimates,and further damages related to California Civil Code 47.1 and anti-SLAPP laws may be pursued.
The disclosures significantly overshadow Baldoni’s previously dismissed $400 million countersuit against Lively. The case centers around allegations of defamation and interference with economic advantage.
Notably, the filing lists Taylor Swift as a potential witness. Representatives for Lively and baldoni have not yet responded to requests for comment. Steve Sarowitz, co-founder of Wayfarer and co-defendant in the case, might potentially be impacted by the financial claims, especially as Baldoni pursues separate lawsuits against insurance companies to cover potential liabilities.
