Vienna, Austria – The Austrian government’s recent decision to โinclude nursing professions within the regulations for heavy labor jobs has been sharply criticized by the โFreedom Partyโ ofโฃ Austria (FPร) asโ misleading public relations.FPร Social Spokesperson Dagmar Belakowitsch denounced the move today, labeling it a “cynical marketing ploy” that fails to address the โcore issues facingโฃ Austria’s nursing โworkforce.
Belakowitsch contends the expansion of the heavy labor regulations offers littleโค practical benefit to nurses. the criteria-requiring 45 years of insurance โขcontributions, with at least ten yearsโ spent in heavy labor-are unlikely to be โคmet by most nursing professionals, rendering the policy largely symbolic. “What this losing coalition presents as a majorโ achievement is nothing โmore than blatant mockery of all nursing staff whoโข perform outstanding work for our society under the most adverse conditions,” Belakowitsch stated.
The FPร โrepresentative further warned of a potential “two-tiered system” emerging within the nursing profession, โขand emphasized the urgent need to address โขthe country’s โnursing shortage with substantive measures. Belakowitsch argued that genuine โimprovements require increased salaries, better working conditions, and demonstrable thankfulness from the government, rather than what she characterized as “hypocrisy.”
