Thai Public Health โขMinistryโ Adjustsโ Compensation for Hospitals in โขChallenging Areas
Bangkok,Thailand – September 23,2025 – A recent directive from the Thai Ministry of Public Health (MoPH)โ has โaltered the โฃlist ofโฃ hospitals eligible for โadditional compensation due to theโค difficultiesโ they โface in resource management. The changes, formalized in a letter signed by Permanent Secretaryโค Dr. Opas โคKarnwinpong on September 22, 2025,โ remove three hospitalsโฃ from the designated list, impacting โขfinancial support for their staff.
The announcement,โฃ officially titled “Announcement ofโข the Ministry of Public Health regarding the list of service units under theโ Office of the permanentโ Secretaryโ of theโข Ministry of Public Health in accordanceโค with the rules, procedures and conditions for payment, compensation, allowances โfor staff operating โinโค the service unit under the Ministry of Public Health,โ 2025,” stemsโค from a review of the existing compensation framework established under the 11th edition (f. 11) of relevant regulations.
Specifically,โ the MoPH has rescinded the designation for Thepparatโ hospital โ(Nakhon Ratchasima), Pak Chong Nanaโ Hospital,โ and Nang Rong Hospital. These hospitals were previously โคrecognized as โoperating in “difficult area in resource management A,” a classification that entitled them to โฃperformance-based compensationโข as outlined in the 2001 (no. 11) and 2016 regulations.
The removal from this list meansโ these hospitals will noโ longer โreceiveโข the supplemental compensation previously provided. The โขchanges โwill take effect from September 19,2025. The Ministry hasโข not yet โpubliclyโ detailedโ the rationale โขbehind โthis decision, leaving healthcare professionalsโข and local โcommunities to speculate on the potential impact.
This โขadjustment raises questions about the โongoingโข support for healthcare facilities โคin regions facing meaningful resource constraints. World Today News will โcontinue to follow this story and provide updates as they become available.
