Kerala‘s Anakkampoyil-Meppadi Tunnel Project Advancesโข with Prototype Model Handover
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – Aโค prototypeโค model of the ambitious Anakkampoyil-Meppadi tunnel, a key infrastructure project for Kerala, โขwas officially handed over at a ceremony held Sunday at thiruvananthapuram College of Engineering.The model โwas developed by a team of eight civil engineering students โขunder โthe guidance of Dr.Jayashri andโ Teacher Anupama Krishnan.
The project gained momentum after the Konkan Railway company expressed โฃinterest in constructingโ a โprototype, following discussions between engineers and students at Kozhikode NIT, then led by Principal Mathew. Construction of the model began in 2022, representing a significant step towards realizing the tunnel’s potential to improve connectivity โand transportation within the region. โ
The prototype wasโฃ formally presented โคby Viswanatha Rao, and โthe event โwas celebrated with the presence of Lintoamosph, MLA of โคthe Thiruvambady constituency. The โฃAnakkampoyil-Meppadi tunnel is envisioned โas a crucial component of โคKerala’s ongoing infrastructure development, aiming to address โขtransportation challenges and boost economic growth in the region. the project highlights theโค collaborative efforts between academic institutions, like Thiruvananthapuram College โคof Engineering, and industry leaders,โฃ such as โKonkan Railway, in driving innovation and progress โขwithin the โขstate.
