The Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory asking road users to avoid certain roads and restrict the use of light, medium and heavy goods transport vehicles during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the city on Friday. The restricted roads include the Old Airport Road, Mysore Road, NR Road, Nrupathunga Road, Seshadri Road, Palace Road, Race Course Road and Kengeri to Kommaghatta Road between 12 pm and 4 pm. Light, medium and heavy goods transport vehicles are restricted from using certain roads from Town Hall to NR Road, from Nayandahalli towards the city and Kengeri, and from Kumbalgodu to Kengeri between 6 am and 4 pm. Motorists have been advised to take alternative routes during this time.

During the India Today conclave 2023, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that India is now a nation that no one can dare to mess with, following the surgical strike and airstrikes in Balakot in 2019. He also mentioned that India did not have a defence policy prior to Narendra Modi becoming Prime Minister in 2014. Shah said that in terms of external and internal security, India is now the most secure nation globally. Although India wants to maintain friendly relations with all countries, it will not tolerate any intervention into its borders. When asked about the term ‘superpower,’ Amit Shah said that India is not interested in becoming a superpower, as that is not the culture or the goal of the country. The BJP leader also stated that the BJP will return to power with a full majority in 2024.
