COPPER MOUNTAIN, COLORADO – โขLena Dรผrr โetched โher โขname โฃinto the record โbooks Saturday, achieving a career-best sixth-place finishโฃ in the giant slalom at โthe โAlpine Ski World Cup in Copper Mountain.The 34-year-old German โฃskier demonstratedโ consistent speedโ and precision,narrowlyโ missing a potential podium spot.
Dรผrr’s impressive performance followed a strong first โขrun were she โคpositionedโ herself in fourth place. While ultimately falling short of the podium by aโ mere 0.36 seconds, the result marks a importantโฃ milestone for the โslalom specialist, representing her first top-ten finish โขin a World Cup giant slalom competition.
The race was won by New โขZealand’s Alice Robinson,โฃ the 2023 World championship silver medalistโ from โSaalbach. robinson finished ahead โขof Austria’s Julia Scheib, who previouslyโ secured a surprise victoryโ in the season-openingโ giant slalom in Sรถlden, Austria.
The โAmerican โฃcontingent saw mixedโข results. Skiingโ superstarโค Mikaela Shiffrin struggled on home snow, finishing in 14thโค place (+2.08โค seconds).โ โข Simultaneously โoccurring, โEmma Aicher finished 47th (+4.10 seconds), โfailing to qualify for the second run, alongside compatriots Fabiana Dorigoโ (39th/+3.24) and Jessica Hilzinger โค(41st/+3.46).
