Man Allegedly Linked to Alameddine Crime โฃFamily Denied Bail Over Gun and Drugโฃ Charges, Accusedโ ofโ Deception
A 22-year-old man allegedly connected toโค the fracturing โฃAlameddine crime family has been refusedโฃ bail after appearing โขin Bankstown Local Court this week,โ facing charges of possessing a pistol andโ commercial drug supply. Ahmed Ghamwari was arrested as part of an investigation by Strike Force Kersley under โTaskforce โFalcon, โฃa wider probe into the Alameddine โnetwork.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts to โdismantle โorganized crimeโฃ groupsโ in โNew โSouth Wales andโฃ raises questions about theโข extent โขto whichโ family members areโ aware of each other’s allegedโ criminal activities. Ghamwari’s legalโฃ team argued the weapon foundโ on his phone was a โreplica and sought hisโฃ release onโ bail to allow him toโ care for his mother, but Magistrate Breton ultimately denied bail.
Police allegeโค they discovered a video of Ghamwari with the weapon on his phone. His โคlawyers, Troy Edwards, SC, andโข Melissa Huseyin, contended the gun was not real and thatโข Ghamwari was needed at home toโ support his โmother.
Magistrate Breton questioned the discrepancy between Ghamwari’s alleged criminal life and his mother’sโค apparent unawareness. “[He is] living a dual life which his mum didโข not know,” the Magistrate stated. “His mum is either being deceived deliberately or he’s managedโข to hide himself in theโฃ shadows and not raise her suspicions.”
Ghamwari is scheduled to reappearโ in โBankstown Local Court next year. โThe investigation โremains ongoing.
