Trenton Volleyball Advances to State Quarterfinals After Defeating Allen โคPark
TRENTON, MI – November 13, 2025 – The Trenton high School volleyballโค team secured a Division 1 โregional championship Thursday night, defeating Allen Park in a โขdecisive match โคand claiming the rubber match between theโฃ two Downriver โฃrivals.The victory sends trenton to the state quarterfinals, where they will face No. 3-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy.
the winโข marks a important achievement for Trenton, solidifying their position as a force in Downriver volleyball andโ earning them a spot among the top teams in the state. It also concludes the โคseason for Allen โคPark, ending the careers of seven graduating seniors.
“It feelsโ like it keeps getting better each year,”โค Trenton coach Martin said.”This year, I’ve been almost speechless. They have set the standard their leadership. โคThere was no clique, which can be common in high school. They played such โคa big part,even in a high-emotion night like tonight.” Martin added, “They really set the tone for this program.”
Trenton will face Farmington Hills Mercy โฃin a state quarterfinal game on Tuesday, November 18 at Hartland High School.
Trenton is one of three local programs to winโฃ regional titles โon Thursday, joining Flatโ Rock and Allen Park Inter-City Baptist. โTrenton coach Sammons expressed gratitudeโ for โฃthe community support and the possibility to represent Downriver โขin the playoffs.
“It was one of our main goals this season, to make Downriver volleyball known,”โค Sammons โฃsaid. “We’re โขnot going anywhere, especially Trenton volleyball. To be together and see the support, I think that’s really starting toโข comeโข aroundโ here at Trenton.โฃ I’m thankfulโ forโ the Trenton โcommunity. They showed up โtonight โfor us. That’s a โขbig deal and I think that’s going to be the new trend.”
