FC Porto Eyes russian Midfielder aleksandr Chernikov as potential Midfield reinforcement
FC Porto is reportedly exploring the acquisition of Aleksandr Chernikov, a 25-year-old Russian midfielder currently playing for Krasnodar. The interest in Chernikov, who has represented the Russian national team, stems from a recommendation by coach Francesco Farioli, according to reports from the Russian press.
Chernikov has spent his entire senior career wiht Krasnodar. His potential arrival at FC Porto is being considered as an alternative to the ongoing pursuit of Kenneth Taylor, the Ajax midfielder, whose transfer to the Portuguese club has encountered significant hurdles.
While FC Porto has not yet submitted a formal offer to Krasnodar, the Russian club is understood to be seeking a transfer fee in the region of ten million euros for the player.
