Veteran Puerto Rican Sportscaster โคAlbertโ Cruz Marks Retirement with Final Broadcast โคand hall of Fame Honor
San Juan, Puerto Rico – โAfter aโค distinguished 34-year career in Puerto Rican media, including over โthree decades with โค”NotiCentro,” renowned sportscaster Albert Cruz has officiallyโ retired.Cruz shared a photo of his final “ponche” (sign-off) on Wapa Television on his social networks Saturday, aโฃ week afterโ hisโค lastโค day on record, November 29th.
“The last punch (November 19,2025,11:15 โam) The rest,until the 29th,which was myโข last day on record,I took on vacation,”โ Cruz โstated.
The proclamationโ prompted an outpouring of wellโค wishes from friends and colleagues in theโ press. Cruz, 68, was recently โฃinducted into the Guaynaboโข Sports Hallโ of Fame, receivingโ theโ Rafael Bracero Award for hisโค contributions to sports journalism.
Fellow communicator Valentin announced last Saturday on social media, “Life is about cycles and for Albert Cruz retirement โhas arrived. More than 30โค yearsโฃ at ‘NotiCentro’ โขand more at โคthe now-defunct San โJuan Star.”
