New Bedford to Boston Flights Launchโค Monday with Cape Air
NEW BEDFORD – Daily flights between โคNew Bedford Regional Airport and Boston Logan Internationalโค Airportโ are set to begin Monday, Sept.โ 29, with Cape Air.The 35-minute flights will offer a new travel option for South Coast residents,bypassing traffic congestion and potentially โstreamlining security checks.
The new serviceโ aims to connect New Bedford residents and those fromโค surrounding areas to national and international flights more โฃeasily. Two flights will โคdepartโ daily from Logan to Newโ bedford, at 1 p.m. โฃandโข 6:40 p.m. Cityโ officials anticipate โthe service willโค spur economic growth at โthe airport and in the city,alongside benefits like cheaper parking – โข$10 per day at New Bedford Regional Airport โ-โ and potentiallyโ faster TSA clearance.
Cape Air’s investment in the service โฃhas โฃbeen lauded โby Newโ Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell as a โ”strong commitment” to both theโค airport and theโค city.He believes the flights will bring moreโค business andโค economic momentum to theโ region.
A ceremony will be held at New Bedford Regional Airportโข before the inaugural flight,โข featuring remarks fromโ Mitchell, as well as representatives from Cape Air and the airport,โ according to โฃNew Bedford Public Information Officer Jonathan Darling.
