Air India Passengers Deplaned After Hours-Long Delay Due to AC failure
New Delhi – Over 200 passengers on an Air India flight bound for Singapore were deplaned at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after being seated in the aircraft for nearly two hours Wednesday night, due to a malfunctioning air conditioning system and electrical supply. Flight AI2380, operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, was scheduled to depart around 11 p.m. on September 10, 2025.The incident highlights ongoing concerns about infrastructure reliability impacting air travel and passenger comfort. Delays and disruptions due to technical issues are increasingly common,raising questions about airline maintenance protocols and the passenger experience. Passengers affected by the deplaning were taken back to the terminal building,but airline representatives did not immediatly offer a specific description for the decision.
According to a PTI journalist who was onboard, the aircraft’s air conditioning and electrical systems were identified as the source of the problem. Passengers reportedly resorted to using newspapers and magazines to create makeshift fans during the extended wait.
As of Thursday morning, Air India had not issued a formal statement regarding the incident. Further updates are expected as the airline investigates the cause of the malfunction and works to reschedule the flight.
