Halim Airport Reduces Flights for Service Upgrades
Airlines Batik Air and Citilink Affected by Schedule Adjustments
Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP) is implementing a reduction in regular flight schedules to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK) beginning August 1, 2025. The airport’s management has stated these changes are a strategic move to enhance operational facilities and improve passenger convenience.
Operational Facility Enhancements Underway
The adjustments to flight frequencies on specific routes are part of a broader initiative to boost service capacity. Public Relations for PT Angkasa Transportindo Selaras explained in a statement that these measures are a proactive response to the anticipated needs for airport infrastructure and services.
Following the completion of these service facility improvements, the airport anticipates a significant increase in its service capabilities. The airlines directly involved in revising their flight schedules are Batik Air and Citilink.
Airport Maintains Full Operations Amidst Changes
While flight frequencies are being adjusted, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport will continue its regular operations. This program is a key component of a long-term strategy aimed at elevating the quality of services, particularly in supporting a mixed environment of commercial, military, and VVIP flights.
The airport assured the public that state, military, special charter, and pioneering flights will continue to be served as usual. Management has advised the community and passengers to stay informed about their flight details by checking the official channels of the airlines and airport authorities.
These adjustments are occurring as air travel demand continues to grow. In 2024, Indonesia’s aviation sector saw a significant rebound, with passenger traffic reaching over 120 million, according to data from the Ministry of Transportation (CNN Indonesia, 2025).
The airport management is committed to ensuring a smoother travel experience for all users post-renovation. Passengers are encouraged to verify their flight information through airline websites or official airport communications to avoid any inconvenience during this transition period.
